“You’re a pioneer,” they said, “a trail blazer, an interplanetary traveler.” But living on the moon’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Today I took a shower, cleaned the toilet, mopped the floor, did the ironing, snipped the bonsai. And then I drank a beer on a deck chair while staring out at the abyss. Maybe tomorrow I’ll vacuum the moon dust.
